Uncharted fish farms exist in the Aegean Sea near Turkish coasts within two areas bounded by the following coordinates:

37° 12.00’N 27° 20.00’E

37° 12.00’N 27° 33.00’E

37° 19.00’N 27° 20.00’E

37° 19.00’N 27° 33.00’E

and

37° 07.00’N 27° 22.00’E

37° 07.00’N 27° 32.00’E

37° 12.00’N 27° 22.00’E

37° 12.00’N 27° 32.00’E

These areas may be dangerous to navigation thus navigate carefully. See map.

 

Inoperative Aids to Navigation in Turkish Coasts


Turkish authorities are informing that some aids to navigation is inoperative from the 7th of December.

1. Fog Signal near Samsun in position 41° 18.60’N  36° 21.40’E

2. Light buoy with (K) code racon near Kepez, the Dardanelles, in position 40° 05.40’N  26° 21.40’E

3. Urla fishing harbor light, the Gulf of Izmir, in position 38° 21.90’N 26° 46.40’E

4. Turk Telekom number 2 marker buoy near Turunc in position 36° 46.55’N 28° 15.07’E

5. Nara light buoys with (N) code racon in position 40° 11.90’N  26° 23.60’E

6. Dikili breakwater light in position 39° 04.20’N  26° 53.20’E

New Lights in the Haifa Port


From the 1st of December new lights are positioned in the port of Haifa and the new Karmel containers terminal. Lights and positions are as follows:

Unlit Main Breakwater Light on Turkish Coast of the Black Sea


The main light on Trabzon breakwater in position 41° 00.30’N 39° 45.20’E is not working. Keep a safe distance. See map.

 

Floating Submerged Pipe near the Princes’ Islands


Submerged pipe is drifting near the Princes’ Islands in the sea of Marmara in the circular area with 200 meters radius centered at 40° 51.957’N 29° 09.361’E. Navigate carefully in the aforementioned area. See map.

 

Unlit Light Buoy in the Black Sea


Light buoy in the position 40° 55.90’N 38° 23.50’E is unlit. Keep a sharp look-out. See map.

Incident in the Ashkelon Port – Missing Man


In the Ashkelon port, tug boat “Negba” collided with MT “Amfalia”. Due to collision, tug boat capsized, its bridge was disconnected and one person is missing.

Nowadays you can enjoy from the fishing throughout a year in Ashdod. Yacht club Galei-Gal started new service – offshore fishing. For this purpose, the club purchased the two new fish boats accessorized by all needed equipment. GPS, FishFinder, fishing rods, spoon baits and other fishing tools are the short inventory of fish boats’ equipment. Currently, fishing fans are able to relish of their hobby four times a week. For beginners, experienced club instructors are ready to tell how and where to fish. Professional approach, modern equipment, no more than 4 peoples in a group and regular sail guarantee an unforgettable relaxation in the circle of friends.

World Cruising Yacht Club has opened its entry list for a host of 2010 events


World Cruising Club, the cruising rally specialists best known for the popular transatlantic sailing event the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC), has now opened its entry lists for a host of 2010 events including ARC Europe, Rally Portugal and the ARC.

ARC Europe - start date 06/05/2010. This transatlantic event for will be started simultaneously in Tortola, BVI and St Augustine, Florida; then the fleet will aggregate in Bermuda and will cross the Atlantic to Azores and Portugal.

Rally Portugal 2010 – start date 30/05/2010. The fleet will start in Plymouth, will pass the bay of Biscay and will finish in Lagos, Portugal

ARC 2010 – start date 21/11/2010. The world’s most popular transoceanic cruising event celebrates its silver jubilee next year. The ARC, which was first established in 1986, covers 2700 nautical miles from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to Saint Lucia in the Caribbean.

Removal of the wreck 'Shelly'


It is to advise that works for the removal of the wreck of M.V 'SHELLY' are in progress as of 1st of July 2009. The area of the wreck of M.V SHELLY is marked as follows:

SOUTH BUOY 32° 50.9’N  35° 00.1’E

WEST BOUY 32° 50.9’N  35° 00.1’E

NORTH BOUY 32° 50.9’N  35° 00.1’E

EAST BOUY 32° 50.9’N  35° 00.0’E

Barge SHIMSHON will be engaged during works and display the following lights and shapes:

three all round lights in vertical line, one above the other, red - white red; three shapes in vertical line, black sphere - diamond black sphere; anchor light where it can best be seen. During night, the barge will be illuminated by working lights. Work will be conducted from sunrise to sunset with the possibility to work at night. Mariners are advised to adhere to the following guidelines: during the wreck removal it is prohibited to drop anchor in anchoring area which is enclosed by the following coordinates:

32° 51.4’N 34° 59.0’E

32° 50.5’N 34° 59.0’E

32° 50.6’N 35° 00.6’E

32° 50.4’N 35° 00.4’E

When divers are engaged in under-water operations, the anchorage in the anchoring B1, B3, B5, B6, as shown on the attached plan and enclosed by the following coordinates is prohibited

In and out port traffic during night to be as usual unless instructed otherwise by harbor master. All vessels shall maintain a safe distance from the working area in accordance with port control and/or pilots instructions.

The quarantine message


Due to epidemic pigs flu (Mexican flu) all mariners are requested to send a fax or e-mail quarantine report from ships at sea according to the international health regulations.

The free pratique message should contain the special international code which has been adopted in 1969 (see Admirality list vol.1).

The quarantine message might be sent via HAIFARADIO or via your agent at least 24 hours before arrival.
